Abstract

In a world of machine learning, language models and AI what will education be about? Will education be tailored to the individual and will cohorts still exist? How will society fund education and what enhanced capabilities will we need to learn? What will society expect of citizens and will we still be recognisably human? What might society expect of educators while we are teaching in the metaverse, in space while also undertaking risk assessments for time travel field trips? Or, will it all have gone terribly wrong and those who remember how to make fire will be the only ones still able to enjoy pizza?
